Jamie Carr joined The Davis Clinic as the Clinical Director in February 2008. With over 14 years of healthcare experience, Jamie has spent the last 13 years of her career focused on bariatric medicine and the treatment of obesity. Her background is in developing bariatric programs, and she has been involved with outcomes establishment and measurement, patient support programs, critical pathways, protocols, and bariatric team development.
She has consulted for bariatric surgical practices across the country to assist in improving patient outcomes and enhancing aftercare programs. In addition, she has consulted for the Surgical Review Corporation, in the Division of Clinical Quality and Compliance where she assisted in developing the bariatric Centers of Excellence program and performed site inspections for the first credentialed bariatric centers in the nation.
Jamie is a certified bariatric nurse. She served as the National Chair for the ASMBS Foundation’s annual Walk from Obesity for over four years, and is a past-member of the board for the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Foundation. She has served on the Public and Professional Education Committee for the ASMBS, has written numerous articles for WLS Lifestyles magazine, including a cover story with the former Surgeon General of the United States of America, and currently serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for WLS Lifestyles magazine. In addition, she has served on the ASMBS RN Credentialing Task Force and, most recently, as a faculty member for the Certified Bariatric Nurse Preparatory Course. She serves on the RN Certification Development Committee and chairs the Marketing subcommittee. She is also a past member of the BariMD Advisory Board.
Jamie Carr has collaborated with bariatric industry manufactures as an educational consultant, has been a featured speaker at national conferences, and has been featured on the Discovery Health Channel on two one-hour specials regarding the treatment of obesity in America.
Prior to taking on the role of Clinical Director at The Davis Clinic, Jamie served as Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations for Bariatric Partners, Inc., headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she managed all aspects of starting and maintaining ambulatory surgery centers (ASC) in cities across the country. She was responsible for state licensure and accreditation, as well as overseeing all operational aspects of successfully running an ASC.
Jamie is a strong proponent of research and education, believing in the empowerment of the weight loss surgery patient. She has worked with thousands of bariatric patients and, while in Nashville, was the clinical director for Dr. John D. Husted in his private practice for over eight years.
Kimberly P. Taylor
Marketing & Administrative Director

Kimberly Taylor joined The Davis Clinic as the marketing and administrative director in February 2008. She has over 20 years’ solid, hands-on experience in marketing and public relations strategies and implementation, strategic planning, brand identity, business development, advertising, and trade show and event management. In addition, approximately ten years of her career was spent in radio and broadcast production. She specializes in healthcare marketing with an emphasis on bariatric medicine, and her forté resides in business-to-consumer marketing.
Prior to joining The Davis Clinic, Kimberly served as Director of Marketing & Brand Strategy for Bariatric Partners, Inc., headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she marketed their outpatient surgery centers in cities across the country under the brand name “JourneyLite.” Before joining Bariatric Partners, Inc., she was the Director of Marketing & Business Development for University General Hospital Systems, LLP. In addition, she established the first bariatric program for the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System – the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in the State of Texas – on the Memorial City Medical Center campus, where she ran a highly-successful comprehensive program for several years.
With a passion for making a difference in the lives of the morbidly obese, Kimberly has served as a National Advisory Board Member for the ASMBS Foundation, and is the Past-National Vice-Chair for the ASMBS Foundation’s Walk from Obesity℠. She is an Editorial Advisory Board Member of WLS Lifestyles magazine, and her column, “Observations from an Obesity Survivor Overcomer,” appeared for several years in this national publication. She has presented at the Annual ASMBS Conference and was asked to join the faculty of BariMD as a resource to clients seeking expertise in bariatric marketing. In her role with BariMD, she presented to programs from all across the country at several conferences on program management, marketing, and best practices. In addition, she has presented at the American Marketing Association and, most recently, her creative work placed as a semi-finalist for the American Marketing Association Houston Chapter’s Crystal Awards.
Kimberly is responsible for rebranding The Davis Clinic with its current name and logo and she manages the strategic marketing and advertising campaigns of the clinic, including all print, radio, outdoor billboard, website, direct mail campaigns, physician referral outreach programs, and other marketing efforts of the practice. She coordinated the shooting schedule for last season with the cast and crew of TLC’s BIG MEDICINE, as well as the one-hour BIG MEDICINE follow-up special which aired this past fall. In addition, she manages all administrative areas of the practice, including physician/surgeon recruitment, human resources, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and managed care contracting and negotiations. Kimberly oversaw our new 8,000 square foot clinic build-out project on the Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center campus, and was key to making our move to the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System happen.
As someone that struggled with being severely overweight since childhood, Kimberly had gastric bypass surgery in July 2002, lost 195 pounds after surgery, and uses her passion and personal experience to advocate for medical treatment on behalf of those who suffer from the life-threatening disease of morbid obesity.
Stephanie Barrocas, RD, LD
Bariatric Dietitian

Stephanie Barrocas joined The Davis Clinic in May 2008 as our Bariatric Dietitian. Stephanie is a registered dietitian who assesses and treats the nutritional needs of pre- and post-operative bariatric patients. Prior to joining The Davis Clinic, Stephanie worked in a similar role at The Methodist Hospital for over four years. She received her degree in Nutrition from the University of Central Arkansas, and completed her dietetic internship at Touro Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. Stephanie has worked with hundreds of bariatric patients over the last eight years, with a focus on pre-operative nutrition counseling and education. She is the contributing writer in our Health & Nutrition section, providing patients of The Davis Clinic with healthy recipes, tips for success, and articles related to weight loss, nutrition, health, and long-term success.
Tammy Natividad
Certified Medical Assistant to Dr. Robert Davis

Tammy Natividad joined The Davis Clinic in July 2008. She works with Dr. Robert Davis as his medical assistant on clinic days and works directly with patients to schedule lab work and other tests. In addition, she reviews pre-operative instructions with surgical patients during their pre-op visit, and is the liaison to Dr. Robert Davis on behalf of his patients. Prior to joining The Davis Clinic, Tammy worked in a very busy pain management/anesthsia group for approximately four years. She is a team player, brings a great sense of humor to the practice, and says that she enjoys keeping Dr. Robert on track on busy clinic days.

Zintia Dominguez joined The Davis Clinic in January 2008. She works with Dr. Garth Davis as his medical assistant on clinic days and schedules patient labs and other tests, reviews pre-operative instructions, and is the liaison to Dr. Garth Davis on behalf of his patients. Prior to joining The Davis Clinic, Zintia worked with an OB/GYN practice for over two years. She is a joy to have on staff and she says that she enjoys being a part of each patient’s journey to a new life!

Tameki Senegal joined The Davis Clinic in March 2008. Her expertise lies in bariatric insurance approvals and – when needed – to appeal insurance denials on behalf of patients seeking surgery to treat their obesity. Prior to joining The Davis Clinic, Tameki coordinated insurance approvals for Obesity Surgery Specialists. She has been in the bariatric healthcare industry since 2006 and loves what she does! She is full of energy and fights with all available ammo on behalf of our patients. Tameki will be a great resource to you as a patient as you work closely with her to achieve approval from your insurance company.

Alma Palacios joined The Davis Clinic in March 2006. She initially was our front desk coordinator; she moved from that position to our insurance benefits verification coordinator, and now serves full-time as our surgery scheduling coordinator. Prior to joining The Davis Clinic, Alma spent over four years in the healthcare industry, and she also enjoyed time as a stay-at-home mom. We’re thankful that she decided to rejoin the workforce, as Alma is a vitally important team member at The Davis Clinic. Her attention to detail shows in all that she does. As a patient of our practice, you will work closely with Alma in scheduling your surgery, making sure everything is ready to go on the day of your surgery. Alma states that she loves her job and making a difference in the lives of our patients.

Maria Guevara joined The Davis Clinic July 2008 as our front desk coordinator. She is the first face our patients see, as her role in greeting our patients and making them feel at home and welcome is vitally important. Maria checks each patient in on clinic days, coordinates the preparation of patient charts, schedules new patient appointments, calls patients that need to be rescheduled, and works hard to keep clinic days running on time. Prior to joining The Davis Clinic, Maria was in the residential leasing industry in Houston. She brings the customer service skills she acquired in her previous career in residential leasing to our practice in a very positive way. Maria loves to see the positive transformation in the lives of our patients and enjoys hearing the wonderful testimonies of how our physicians have touched and changed our patients’ lives.

Stephanie Edward joined The Davis Clinic in July 2009 as the welcoming voice of the practice. In her role as our receptionist, she answers all incoming phone calls and manages return to work letters and FMLA paperwork. In addition, on clinic days, she checks patients out after their appointments, schedules new appointments, verifies insurance benefits, and handles the copying of medical records. Stephanie brings a zest for life and energy to The Davis Clinic, always with a smile in her voice and making each patient feel special, because they are.

Becky Pate joined the practice in July 1997 when it was known as Houston Surgical Consultants. She started in the role as the practice receptionist and insurance claims secretary for Dr. Robert Davis. Over the years, Becky has served in many different capacities within the practice and, in 2008, was promoted to Manager of Billing and Insurance Services. She has earned the designations of certified medical coder and certified medical office manager. Becky brings a tremendous amount of knowledge about the practice, its history, and the transition from Houston Surgical Consultants to the current-day Davis Clinic to the team. She is a valued, loyal employee and appreciates how what she does on a daily basis allows the practice to run smoothly.

Laura Aguilar joined The Davis Clinic in August 2009. Prior to joining The Davis Clinic, Laura served as billing and collections manager for Fein-Jennings Clinic in Houston, where she served in that capacity for over two years. Her background in healthcare extends over 15 years and she brings a great understanding of the financial side of the private practice to The Davis Clinic. Laura is a proud native Houstonian and is a tremendous asset to our team.
